Our mission at Michigan IPMA-HR is to provide the best professional education, training, and opportunities for idea exchange and networking that is possible for our members.

Objectives of the IPMA Michigan Chapter
- To assist in planning and implementing the program of the IPMA-HR U.S. and advancing its objectives in the State of Michigan. These objectives include promoting interest in and encouraging the wider application of sound human resources administration in the public service based upon the principles of the merit system.
- To provide a forum for members to discuss problems and developments in the field of human resources management.
- To advance the arts of human resources management and aid in the professional development of members by encouraging cooperative research projects and publication of scholarly and newsworthy articles.
- To facilitate inter-agency cooperation, particularly on technical and operational problems.
- To formulate and secure the voluntary acceptance of standards for human resources work, human resources workers, and human resources agencies in Michigan.
- To aid in developing the curricula of institutions of higher learning in Michigan toward training for careers in human resources management and specifically toward training for careers in public human resources administration.

Our speakers are practitioners just like you. They will share their knowledge while addressing topics that will challenge and inform you. We believe you will also have fun taking a break to refresh your skills.
The quarterly newsletter is another way for you to keep up with the ever-changing facets of human resources management, whether you are a Human Resources professional or municipal administrator who looks to Michigan IPMA-HR as a resource to help you effectively administer your human resources function. This newsletter also provides an opportunity for members to publish short articles and share their knowledge and experiences with others in our profession.
