GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Northland Pioneer College seeks a highly proficient and collaborative Chief Human Resources Officer committed to the mission, vision, and values of the College. The CHRO, who reports directly to the President, will plan, organize and direct the Human Resources Department. The CHRO will also develop, review, recommend, and implement human resource and compensation related policies and procedures. In addition, the college seeks a CHRO who can develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of staff, maintain a high degree of confidentiality, and demonstrate professionalism. The CHRO must provide internal responsibility and leadership for the Human Resources Department, thereby assuring the effective and efficient operation of the department. The CHRO must positively promote the college internally and externally.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in human resources management or related field; seven (7) years of human resources experience with an emphasis in the areas of recruitment, selection, classification, compensation, training, organizational development and employee relations, and benefits administration; five (5) years of progressively responsible supervisory experience. IPMA-HR SCP and/or SHRM SCP professional certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ten (10) years of direct human resources experience, including five (5) years’ experience in a higher education setting and/or instructional experience. Seven (7) years of progressively responsible supervisory experience. Experience in the design and implementation of a comprehensive human resources service system. Demonstrated skill in transformational leadership within a human resources department.
