Health Services Employee Relations Manager

Starting salary up to $7,988.45/Mo.*($104,585.58/Yr.), a cash allowance of $600/month, and a competitive total compensation package!


Reporting to the DHS Human Resources Manager, this position is responsible for supporting DHS managers and supervisors with performance management and grievance processes; interpreting labor contracts/MOUs; participating in labor/management committee meetings and activities; participating in meet and confer meetings with employee organizations; conducting investigations; and overseeing position control and preparation of HR metrics and reporting.

This position requires frequent contact with DHS supervisors and managers, County Counsel, central Human Resources, and employee organizations. The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is critical to this position.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will be an experienced human resources professional with strong supervisory and leadership skills, and will possess:

  • Experience with performance management and grievance processes in a unionized environment
  • In-depth working knowledge of employment laws affecting the public sector
  • The ability to handle a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment
  • An aptitude for working collaboratively with staff, managers, union representatives, and other departments
