THE POSITION

The City of Murrieta is seeking a “hands on”, proactive, enthusiastic and dedicated professional to plan, manage and direct the programs and activities of the Human Resources division.  He/she will be responsible for managing employee and labor relations, benefits administration, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, and risk management.

 THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated increasingly responsible experience across a variety of human resources functions, combined with an educational background in human resources, public or business administration, or a related field.  He/she will possess a management style that emphasizes teamwork, participation, communication, collaboration, and team development.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in human resources management, business or public administration, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of management or administrative experience in human resources or risk management programs, two (2) of which should be in a management capacity.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a valid California Driver's License or other means that would allow for the ability to commute to meetings, conduct site visits, and attend other special events throughout the county may be required at the time of hire.
