The City of Pleasant Hill invites you to apply for the position of Human Resources (HR) Technician. This classification is in the Human Resources Division under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager. The HR Technician provides a wide variety of confidential para-professional administrative and technical assistance related to HR administration. This position assists with the coordination of various functional areas including benefits, compensation, payroll maintenance, recruitment, and related functions of the HR information system (HRIS); performs administrative and technical work of assigned program areas; and performs routine administrative requests related to areas of assignment.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will be a customer focused team player with experience working for a public sector HR department and possess a degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a closely related field. Experience with public sector recruitments, payroll and benefits is highly desirable. The ideal candidate should always maintain confidentiality, possess excellent customer service skills and be able to interpret, and apply rules, regulations, laws and ordinances that pertain to human resource management including administrative and departmental policies and procedures.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The City of Pleasant Hill offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits program. Monthly salary is $5,260 to $6,791. Benefits include CalPERS pension (2% @ 60 for classic members; 2% @ 62 for PEPRA new members); excellent medical, vision, and dental coverage; supplemental insurances; 13 paid holidays and up to 23 days of vacation; as well as retirement investment programs. Job Requirements

SELECTION

The most qualified candidates will be invited for an oral board interview, based on background and experience as evidenced by their application. A written test may be administered.  To be placed on an eligibility list, an applicant must receive a passing score of 70 or more from each panel member.
