Under limited direction, performs specialized work in processing liability, insurance, and workers' compensation claims for the City. The work requires exercise of initiative, independent judgement and discretion in handling claims in accordance with established City Code requirements, State and Federal law and internal policies. Works under the supervision of the Risk Manager and may supervise clerical staff as assigned. Performs special projects, administrative duties and other related duties as assigned. This position will be required to be on-call.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or related field is, and three (3) years of related experience is required, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Experience with Quattro Pro and/or Paradox software is highly desirable. Florida adjusters’ license is highly desirable.
A current and valid Florida driver’s license is required. For application purposes, a valid driver’s license from any state (equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized; with the ability to obtain the State of Florida driver’s license within thirty (30) days from date of employment.
