ABOUT THIS POSITION

This Senior Classification & Compensation Analyst performs a variety of responsible professional, technical and analytical classification and compensation activities to help maintain and improve the City’s efforts to attract, develop, support and retain a talented workforse so they can provide exceptional services to our community.  Responsibilites will include reviewing internal requests for changes to positions and/or to employees’ compensation rates, conducting human resources-related research such job analyses and position audits, reviewing, revising, or compiling classification specifications, advising supervisors, managers and other human resources staff on a variety of human resources policies and functions, conducting and responding to surveys and other external requests for information, and maintaining and updating information on internal and external websites. This position requires a keen attention to detail in the performance of all tasks.

Currently there is one vacancy in the Human Resources Department; however, this recruitment may be used by any department for any current or future vacancies over the life of the eligible list.

SALARY

Appointment can be made up to $73,653 depending upon qualifications. 

 

A comprehensive benefits package is offered which includes medical (HMO, PPO or HSA); wellness incentive of up to $720 annually; dental; vision; life insurance; long-term disability; traditional pension with employer and employee contributions; 401(a) and 457 plans; tuition reimbursement; bus/light rail pass.   • Two years of professional-level human resources experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or public administration, communications, industrial psychology, or a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and education may be considered.

  • Proficient experience in classification and compensation activities
  • High level of proficiency using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with PeopleSoft HRIS system
  • Excellent attention to detail
