The SBA is seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst to join the Human Resources team! The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, development and implementation of compensation programs, including related policies and procedures, in order to be responsive to the organization's goals and competitive pay practices. The position is also responsible for assuring that compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with SBA policies and government regulations.  This position reports to the Senior Operating Officer - Human Resources.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborates with SBA leaders in the development of job documentation/position descriptions, performs job evaluations for the SBA’s base pay program and advises the SOO-HR on classification/reclassification of positions and base pay requests and recommendations
  • Facilitates annual base pay increase processes
  • Participates in and conducts compensation surveys and recommends updates to maintain a market-base pay structure
  • Tracks and calculates incentive compensation payouts
  • Develops, proposes and tracks budget for incentive compensation and fixed pay programs
  • Provides administrative and analytical support to the SOO-HR and human resources colleagues
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, human resources, finance, accounting or a related field, and three years of related experience. Or any combination of education and/or experience equal to minimum requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Business Administration or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in human resources, finance, accounting or a related field
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP),SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP),Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR),or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) credential
  • Experience designing, implementing and maintaining variable pay programs

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of quantitative and qualitative principles and practices of compensation, including job analysis, documentation and evaluation, and market pricing
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Working knowledge of human resources information systems (preferably PeopleSoft) including database design, structure, functions and processes
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory environment for human resources including federal, state and local regulations, laws and statutes
  • Skill in participating in and designing compensation surveys and interpreting survey results
  • Skill in managing projects, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing work assignments by following broad and complex instructions
  •  Highly effective organizational and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills
  •  Exceptional research, analytical, evaluation, critical-thinking and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to use good judgement and discretion when working with confidential matters, materials and situations
  • Strong business acumen with a willingness to learn and maintain working knowledge of the investment management industry and related operational functions
