Based on feedback from our Members and current circumstances, IPMA-HR’s Executive Council has decided to cancel the 2021 International Training Conference and Expo, originally planned to be held in Indianapolis this fall.
The health uncertainties and economic hardships brought on by the pandemic have understandably made a number of us reluctant to attend large gatherings, as we all continue to do our best to protect colleagues and loved ones. More specifically, we recognize that the budgets of our members and agencies have been severely impacted and that travel restrictions and quarantines would all make attendance more difficult.
In years past, these Conferences have provided many opportunities for training as well as personal exchanges among our Members. These remain important goals for our Association and in the coming months you will see a re-dedication to both education and community-building across the organization, strengthening the professional credentials and the personal relationships that have been hallmarks of IPMA-HR throughout our full, 115-year history.
I look forward to sharing these new initiatives with you, focused on courses and certifications, assessment products, and networking/mentoring, details of which will be coming soon.
In the meantime, I wish you all a safe, healthy, and rewarding summer.
