Alexandria, Va., October 7, 2021 – The International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2021 IPMA-HR Awards. The award winners were recognized today at the Annual Business Meeting held virtually at 1 PM EDT.
The following were recognized for their contributions in advancing the association and the human resource profession:
2021 IPMA-HR President’s Award:
Pam Dollard, IPMA-SCP from Madison, WI.
Dollard serves as the current IPMA-HR President, previously serving as an Executive Council member from 2016-2018. She served as the IPMA-HR Central Region Secretary/Treasurer in 2004, and as President in 2006. At a local level, she served as Secretary/Treasurer and President for the IPMA-HR Wisconsin Chapter in 2001 and 2003, respectively. Dollard is recognized with the 2021 IPMA-HR President’s Award for her commitment and dedication in leading the association and its mission.
2021 Honorary Life Member:
Mary Rowe, IPMA-SCP, IPMA-CE from Milwaukie, OR.
Rowe has served on the IPMA-HR Executive Council in 2010-2012 and 2014-2017, and as IPMA-HR President in 2017. She served as a Board Member for the IPMA-HR Western Region from 2004-2008 and co-chaired the Western Region Conference in 2006 and 2009. Rowe was also a founding board member of the IPMA-HR Oregon Chapter where she served continuously until 2011. Rowe is recognized as an Honorary Life Member for her distinguished service in advancing the purposes of the association by making significant contributions to IPMA-HR at the national, regional, and chapter level.
2021 Chapter Award of Excellence:
Patuxent River Basin Chapter from MD.
Established in 2006, the local chapter represents the geographic areas of Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Howard, Prince George’s, and St. Mary’s Counties in Maryland. In the past year, the Patuxent River Basin Chapter hosted several forums featuring city and state government officials discussing new laws impacting HR, legislative priorities in labor and employment, and understanding the impact the pandemic had on HR divisions of municipalities. The Chapter is recognized with the 2021 Chapter Award of Excellence for significantly advancing and enhancing the human resources profession through innovative membership recruitment and retention strategies, excellent educational programs, and quality member communication.
In the Nominations Report, the IPMA-HR Awards Committee said the recipients “were deemed outstanding candidates and worthy of the recognition from the association.”
“We are extremely proud of the 2021 award recipients,” said IPMA-HR Executive Director Cara Woodson Welch. “In this challenging year, it is especially important to take the time to celebrate our award winners!”
